Set Up Cisco Duo for Microsoft ID

The Catholic University of America uses multi-factor authentication to help protect your account. Use this guide to complete Cardinal Login setup with Cisco Duo.

Before You Start

  • Have your smartphone ready with the Cisco Duo Mobile app installed.
  • Use a trusted desktop computer or laptop to complete these steps.

What You Will Need

Your full Catholic University email address, your account password, and access to the phone enrolled with Duo.

Step-by-Step Setup

Enter Your Email

When you open the portal or application, enter your full CUA email address, such as username@cua.edu, then select Next.

Enter Your Password

Enter your account password and select Sign in.

Advance Past the Security Prompt

When the Let's keep your account secure screen appears, select Next.

Confirm Cisco Duo

The system will show that you are setting up Cisco Duo. Select Next to continue.

Approve the Duo Push

Check your smartphone for a Duo verification notification. Tap Approve on your phone to complete the verification.

Finish Setup

After the sign-in method is added, select Done. You will then be directed to the application.

Tip: If you do not receive the push notification, confirm that your phone has an active Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
